Letterman versus O'Reilly

Anyone catch the show? I thought it was interesting observing the two opposite viewpoints.

I though O'Reily tore his a$$ up. It was obvious that Letterman had no idea what he was talking about.

Yeah I thought Letterman looked like a fool and a jerk at the same time...I was surprised because I didn't know he was that big of an idiot because I used to really like his show when he was on NBC after Johnny Carson...I think I'm about done with his show for good now!

O'Reilly can tear most entertainers a new arsehole because that's what they are--entertainers. They're not all supposed to be political satirists (unless they proclaim themselves as such), and most care more about the next script, next single, or next monologue they're going to work on.

O'Reilly gets his rear handed to him more often than not on that show and it's funny to watch him be self-righteous and arrogant in spite of it, just as if he were like Tony Kornheiser in a round of toss-up declaring "That's it! Toss-up's over! I win again!" when the other guy is gone or done talking. O'Reilly's a tool.

I can tell you one entertainer that can put O'Reilly in his place on a regular basis and that's Jon Stewart. Stewart knows his isht and isn't afraid to argue the point. See this recent Christmas vs. Holidays fiasco and Stewart's prior faceoff with the tool of all right-wing nutjobs, Tucker "I'm a grown man but still wear a bowtie" Carlson.

I watch O'Reilly on an almost nightly basis and rarely if ever have seen anyone tear him up in a debate...there have been a few moderates that have faired pretty well against him on certain issues but I wouldn't say they "handed his rear end" to him. He is gonna have any left wing "nutjob" for lunch anytime any place because its just easy pickins for him with those cats...all they do is make O'Reilly look smarter than he really is with their idiotic views.

I have never been a huge Tucker Carlson fan and he is far from being a skilled debater...any smart A$$ like Stewart who has half a brain could hang with Carlson...let him go talk to O'Reilly then we'll see what he has to say.

He's a pompus arse who will say he's right and proclaim it from the mountaintops even if all the evidence points to him being wrong. But wait...this is the guy that single-handedly forced oil barrel prices down just about a month ago, right? LMAO...this guy is a certified nut...goes to show anyone can get a TV show.

Besides, someone like Letterman or Stewart are paid to act like nuts and that's what they do. The seriousness nature in which guys like Hannity, Colmes, and O'Reilly take themselves is laughable enough...but concerning because there are people that are taking them seriously when they really shouldn't b/c of their extreme biases.

So that means we should only take those who have liberal views seriously? I agree O'Reilly takes himself too seriously but I know alot of liberal pundits who take themselves too seriously as well. Most all of us take our own opinions and views too so imagine that multiplied if a T.V. station thought enough of our views to give us our own show. If you were given a TV show and had millions of people watching your program every night you might have a tendency to look at your self as being a little more important than what you really are in the overrall scheme of things as well. Thats typical...Jon Stewart does the same thing...yeah he covers his extreme liberal bias by telling us its comedy and he should be excused from being objective but he is no idiot and anyone that has any sense can see what his secondary intentions are. He makes jokes and all and his rock the vote campaign about getting everyone out to vote as long as you vote for the guy we like is masked with comedy as well as if they are saying hey don't vote republican but we are just kidding vote for who you want...lol i get a kick out of it. Sure he is being paid to make people laugh and he does that well but he also likes having the forum to voice his views and hope to influence the views of others...some of the things he said to Carlson were absolutely true yet very hippocritical.

I thought it was funny that Letterman called him out. Letterman was honest and said he wasnt a political buff, but told him half the crap that comes from O's mouth is crap. He was honest at least. Whats the point in debating when you can just do what Letterman did. I loved it.
